The forums are here for the purposes of a friendly and helpful atmosphere for discussion and suggestions about the Wars of Arda mod for Battle for Middle-earth: The Rise of the Witch-king by EA Games We'd like to ask that you follow the rules and guidelines below while being around the forums.


Forum Behavior

-No flaming; insults and personal attacks won't be tolerated here. This rule also applies to flamebait, basically an opinion intentionally stated in such a way that it will spark a flamewar. Be considerate, especially when stating an opinion.

-No trolling; harassing the users and antagonizing them in here for biased reasons is bad. If this is meant in sarcasm, make absolutely sure that it is made clear, because that is usually a little more tricky on the internet.

-Respect other people's privacy. Also remember however that while this is the internet, you are not totally anonymous... do not post anything that you will be ashamed of.

Discussion Etiquette

-If a topic is more than 2 weeks old, then only post in it if you have something very important to say. This doesn't apply to spam or forum games.

-Spam goes in the spam section. In most cases junk will just serve to derail the topic. Moderators can and will delete such posts or move them to the spam topic.

-Stay on topic. If an administrator decides that some of the conversation is still salvageable they may split the topic. This applies to the Spam topic too albeit loosely.

-If English is your first language, then use spelling and grammar. You are posting on a forum, not IM'ing.

Restricted Content

-No pornography. Younger members shouldn't have access to it, and it doesn't really do the older members any good either.

-No excessive profanity. If a person is seen using most members will be willing to tolerate some mild swearing here and there but if it gets out of hand then there is a likely chance that some people are going to shun your posts.

-Warez, illegal music, and local things such as private betas may not be posted or discussed on these forums.

-If anybody posts links to inapt content, we'll assume that they're a spambot and ban them immediately.

Miscellaneous

-Obey forum regulations on signature sizes. Sigs that are too big make it harder to read and are often distracting. Sigs should be no larger than 500px across and 300px high. This is the total area for all images, not just one.

-The forum policies in The Hidden Vale are posted to further explain a specific rule that has at one point or another apparently been misunderstood or ignored, or was added due to necessity. Anything stated there is as mandatory as that which is stated here.
